New for 2026: Two Retreats

We have thought for years about how we could grow the retreat and still retain its sweet, personal atmosphere. So, in honor of our 10th Anniversary, we are hosting two retreats.

  • The Mini-Retreat will run from 4 PM on Thursday, February 5th, to 3 PM on Friday, February 6th. It will include three meals, an evening plenary, an evening activity, an immersion morning, and a debrief and discussion after lunch.
  • The Standard Retreat will run from 4 PM on Friday, February 6th, to 3 PM on Sunday, February 8th. It will include six meals, four plenaries, three breakout sessions, and various activities.
  • You may sign up for either retreat or both.

New for 2026: Consultations

  • This year, we are excited to offer a limited number of in-person, 50-minute consultations with one of our presenters. Subject to availability, you can choose to have a consultation with either Jennifer Taylor or Art Middlekauff. (Note that during Art’s consultations, he will be accompanied by either his wife or a CMER team member.)
  • These on-site consultations are only being offered to those who are registering for the Mini- or Standard Retreat. If you sign up for a consultation, the cost of $103 will be added to your registration fee. All the consultations will be held on Friday afternoon from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the retreat center.
  • The consultation may focus on any homeschooling or Charlotte Mason topic or situation that is important to you. Once we have confirmed that we can offer a time slot that works for you, you will be contacted by Jennifer or Art to prepare for the consultation.

General Information

  • Everyone lodging with us will have an individual bed but may be in a 2, 3, or 4-person room. Registered spouses will have their own room. Private rooms are available for an additional fee. Please note, we have VERY LIMITED private and 2-man rooms which will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Most of our smaller, 2-man rooms have been set aside for married couples.
  • We have additional space for commuters.
  • Nursing babies are welcome. We will reserve seats for mothers with babies near the door during the plenaries. Out of consideration for others, we ask that you step out of the room with a chatty or crying baby. If needed, we will ask you to leave a session if your child is causing distractions.
  • Registration is only open to adults. While we will have teen-volunteers on site, we do not have the capacity for the general registration of teens. The Hideaway is still planning an expansion which will hopefully allow us to readdress this in the future.
  • We can accept cancellations with a $50 cancellation fee. See our policies on refunds below.
